I DON'T KNOW IF WE EVER HAD SO MANY CRANES UP IN THE CITY AS WE DO THREE MONTHS. I HAVE A LOT OF PICTURES FOR YOU TODAY. FINANCIALS, WE ENDED THE MONTH OF MAY BE ABOUT 5 MILLION OF UNRESTRICTED 13 MILLION IF YOU INCLUDE RESTRICTED FUNDS.

HOLLAND IS FINISHED. IT IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW. WE GOT ABOUT 18 MONTHS ON THAT ONE. THE WINDSOR THEY JUST STARTED DIGGING OUT THE GROUND FOR ONE LEVEL OF UNDER GROUND PARKING THAT PROJECT WHETHER HAVE.

THAT PROJECT MOVING FORWARD INCREDIBLY FAST.

MAGNOLIA IS MOVING FORWARD. THEY HAVE THEIR BUILDING PERMITS FOR MULTIPLE BUILDINGS NOW.

WE SHOULD SEE THAT CONTINUING TO MOVE FAST.

IT'S NICE TO SEE THOSE RISE UP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF RANGE LINE AND GIVE A SCALE TO THAT CITY CENTER AND RANGE LINE INTERSECTION. THE CORNER I CAN'T TAKE FULL CREDIT FOR THIS. CITY ENGINEERING IS DOING A WONDERFUL WONDERFUL JOB AT THIS INTERSECTION.

THIS PLACE WILL BE TRANSFORMED.

LOTS OF COOL RETAIL THERE ON THE FIRST FLOOR FACING THE ROUNDABOUT. IT WILL BE A REALLY SPECIAL PROJECT. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING IS THE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION IS BUILDING A NEW TRAIL HEAD AT THE 116TH FOR THE PARKS DEPARTMENT.

THAT'S GOING TO BE HAPPENING IN THE NEXT YEAR OR SO.

THE SIGNATURE I LOW TO SEE THE STEEL UP TAKING SHAPE.

I'M THE ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE CARMEL HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION. YES, SO WE SENT OUT IN THE SPRING LETTERS TO ALL OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE SURVEY THAT WERE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR FACADE GRANTS FOR THIS SPRING ROUND.

AND THE COMMISSION HAD SET ASIDE 25,000 OUT OF THEIR BUDGET FOR THOSE FACADE GRANTS.

AND THEY DID RECEIVE -- WE HAD A PUBLIC MEETING.

MET WITH A NUMBER OF PEOPLE. HAD APPLICATIONS THAT WERE ENTERTAINED. THOSE WERE APPROVED AT THEIR JUNE MEETING AND WE KNOW SOME OF THE PROPERTY OWNERS ALL OF WHICH ARE RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES ARE ALREADY UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THIS STAGE. WE ALSO SPENT QUITE A BIT OF TIME PROCESSING COMPLETED FACADE GRANTS THAT HAD FINISHED UP FROM -- THAT WERE APPROVED LAST YEAR.

AND CONSTRUCTION OCCURRED THIS SPRING SO WE DID A NUMBER OF SITE VISITS FOR THOSE.

AS YOU KNOW, WE -- AN ITEM ON THE AGENDA FOR 14-A THAT DEALS WITH THE ADDITION OF A PROPERTY SURVEY.

WE WERE DEALING WITH THAT MATTER AND AS WELL.

AND THE COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THAT TO BE HEARD TO MIGHT BY THE COUNCIL.

IT WAS DESIGNED IN 1992 AND COMPLETED IN 1994.

IT WAS TO BE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS FOR THOMPSON CONSUMER ELECTRONICS. WHICH AT THAT TIME WENT ON TO BECOME A MAJOR EMPLOYER OF THE CITY OF CARMEL ABOUT 2000 EMPLOYEES WORKED AT THIS FACILITY.

AS NOTED BY COUNCILOR RIDER, AS HE RED THE INTO IT WAS DESIGNED BY MICHAEL GRAVES. HE'S CONSIDERED KIND OF A STARK-ATECT. HEATS VERY IMPORTANT ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CIRCLES.

HE IS A HOOSIER NATIVE. HE WAS FROM FORT WAYNE AND DID A NUMBER OF PROJECTS HERE IN THE STATE.

ALSO IN INDIANAPOLIS THE INDIANAPOLIS ARTS CENTER WAS DESIGNED BY GRAVES. ALSO WELL-KNOWN IN SOME OTHER COMMUNITIES. LOUISVILLE THE HUMANA BUILDING CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS.

25-STORY SKYSCRAPER HE DESIGNED.

AND ALSO PRETTY WELL-KNOWN I THINK IN THE CIRCLES IS AN OUTSTANDING OF POST MODERN DESIGN IS THE PORTLAND CITY HALL. PORTLAND CITY BUILDING, WHICH HE WAS ALSO THE DESIGNER OF THAT BUILDING.

ACTUALLY, LANDED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES AT ONLY 30 YEARS OLD.

AND IF WE APPLY THOSE SAME PRINCIPLES WHILE THIS BUILDING MAY ONLY BE APPROXIMATELY THAT SAME AGE, THE TYPICALLY, WHEN WE'RE LOOKING AT ADDING BUILDINGS ON TO THE LOCAL ARCHITECTURE SURVEY.

WE WOULD BE LOOKING AT 40-YEAR TIME FRAME.

BUT THE REASON THAT THE NATIONAL REGISTER FOR EXAMPLE DID THE PORTLAND BUILDING AND I KNOW MY ORGANIZATION THAT I WORKED FOR INDIANA LANDMARKS OWNS FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT. IT WAS LISTED IN THE NATIONAL RESTER FOR ABOUT 30 YEARS.

IT'S THE WORK OF A MASTER DESIGNER OR MASTER CRAFTSMAN. THAT CAN BE AN EXCEPTION AS TO WHY A BUILDING CAN BE ADDED TO EITHER HISTORIC ARK ARKANSAS ARCHITECTURE.

THEY FELT THIS BUILDING IS A LITTLE BIT UNUSUAL MANY MOST OF THE TIME THAT WE BROUGHT ADDITIONS TO THE SURVEY.

THEY'VE ALL BEEN RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES.

IN THIS CASE IT'S A CORPORATE ENTITY.

WE FELT THAT IT WAS WORTHY OF ADDITION TO THE SURVEY.

INITIAL SURVEY BACK IN 2014. THIS BUILDING WOULD HAVE BEEN ABOUT 20 YEARS OLD. IT WAS SORT OF PROBABLY VIEWED BY OUR SURVEY TEAM AS PROBABLY JUST TOO NEW AT THAT TIME. NOW THAT IT'S TAKEN ON AGE AND PERSPECTIVE. I THINK THAT CERTAINLY IT'S BEEN AROUND FOR AT LEAST A GENERATION THAT IT'S WORTHY

OF ADDING TO THE SURVEY. >> OKAY.
