INITIALLY IT SEEMED TO BE TRUE AS THE HOUSE SAT VACANT IN 2023. BUT THIS YEAR THE AIRBNB RENTALS HAVE INCREASED AND ASIDE FROM LAWN SERVICE AND CLEANING CREWS THE OWNERS SEEM TO RARELY USE IT AS THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE. SO THAT IS OUR BIGGEST CONCERN. WE ALSO SEEM TO BE CONFUSION FOR RENTERS OF AIRBNB LISTING LOCATION. MULTIPLE TIMES GUESTS HAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAYS AND TURNED AROUND IN THE STREET. TRY TO USING THE GARAGE KEYPADS AND HAVE A VERSION ENTERED OUR NEIGHBORS HOME BY MISTAKE.

BECAUSE OF THIS WE'VE HAD TO STEP UP OUR OWN SECURITY INSTALLING CAMERAS AND UPGRADING OUR GARAGE KEYPAD WITH A BUILT-IN CAMERA AND BEING INTENTIONAL ABOUT KEEPING OUR KIDS NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY. A FAMILY NEIGHBORHOOD AND MANY CHILDREN WALK AND BIKE EARLY MORNINGS TO LATE AFTERNOONS.

SOME LIKE OUR DAUGHTER WHO HAS SPECIAL NEEDS WHICH MAKES HER MORE VULNERABLE TO THE UNPREDICTABILITY OF UNVENTED GUESTS. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL SCUBA STOPS AROUND THE LOCATION WHERE MANY CHILDREN INCLUDING OUR YOUNGEST ATTEND AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LESS THAN A MILE AWAY. WE ARE NOT OBLIVIOUS TO THE FACT THAT IN REALITY THAT THINGS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE. BUT WE SURE DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT EASIER. AS A FATHER OF FOUR MY CHILDREN'S SAFETY IS MY TOP PRIORITY.
